Constructing the Sales Funnel

It was the day when my wife lost patience with me and slammed the notebook on my head-" Are you gonna make some money with this internet marketing or you gonna pay attention to me and your son. If you are going to substitute me , substitute me with a gorgeous broad, not with some dumb laptop"". Shock and awe! :-)   Than I realised that the time was come to change my

approach(thanks to the fury of Ms. Eleonora). The sales funnel is your structure for successful campaign. I have done the usual which is TRAFFIC--to--> SALES PAGE and then I found "WHY?" I have miserable results of 0.5% or 1% conversion rate. Part was because, I was too impatient and too lazy to do the right thing. Part was because I was too concentrated with my personal "WHY?" to make quick buck launching straight to the product. Results- meager results and wasted money and resources. Not to mention the psychological impact and the impact of the notebook on my head.
Here is a little self made infographic that pretty much explains the basics of structuring an Internet Marketing campaign.
So, here how it goes as I buy or direct traffic in any means.

  1. I send this traffic to 3-4 landing pages for split testing. I have found a cool little technology available called Rotator. The Rotator will send every 1st visitor to the 1st Landing Page and the 2nd to the 2nd Landing page and so on with the rest. What is a Rotator? Is a link service and to learn more , you can go to Google search and Google it. Of course after my traffic lands in my LP(landing Pages) they automatically are directed to the sales page, but I' ve got the lead and my list is ballooning.  Some will buy  and some will not. It doesn't matter at this point, because this is a test. I like to use a simple landing pages with text and one box for email. This is because I would like to structure my text with problem solving pitch and hook as simple as possible with element of mystery. Let my prospect get curious and  opt in to see what is behind the fuz. I will right a special post on Landing Pages.
  2. After I see which one is converting best, I get rid of the rest and continue with the ones that gave me the most opt ins. Pay attention to the traffic source too because is important to note.
  3. Than I redirect all the traffic to the best performing Landing Page with little twist. The twist is called Retargeting (available discription on Google and Wikipedia). Retargetters will follow every one that did not opt in on the web with some cookies(totally legal) until they finally decide to opt in. The human will note an offer  or landing page at the 9th time and will take action on 27th time when they see same ads again and again. It has to do with visual  neuro-programing according to Jay Levinson the king of advertising free world. This is working actualy. I tested on my wife and my stubborn son. She is listening on the 30th time and Alexander learned to wash his hands before dinner on the 29th time remorsefully repeating the same song.
  4. After I see some results with the sales I retarget the sale page. Now, if you are promoting affiliate offer what you can do is contact the owners of the sales page and ask tem to insert your pixel cod into the landing page with your affiliate ID. They will do this for you. Retargeting is cheap and goes something like $0.01 per 1000 impressions.
  5. After the sales start to roll I retarget the up sale page too. This will set you above any competition regardless how many people sell this product. Therefore competition is gold.
With this the EXTERNAL part of internet marketing campaign is set. Now , what to do with the list that we piled in our autoresponder? Here comes the INTERNAL part of internet marketing. here is some infographic for better understanding:

Here comes the WHY-s? in this cycle.
  1. Why system set up? Because we need precise structure or line of production. In our case a marketing machine.
  2. Why blog set up? Because with the blog we can give more value and content for free to those people that are still indecisive to purchase from as. A video or picture with screen shot or statistic report that underline the benefits of our product. Usually this content is 90% free and 10 % pitch at the end. When we publish our content we can send email to our list and direct them to the post with value.
  3. Why marketing plan? Because we need to determine what kind of marketing method we will bring to our subscribers delivering this content. Weather we  will bring to them by social media or email or IM or whatever works for specific audience. "Right bate with the right line for the right fish" is the name of the game.
  4. Why we have to solve the problem? Because as charming as we are most people are not looking on the internet for charms and blooms , but to solve some problem or make them better since we do not communicate directly with them, they do not trust us.
  5. Why solution? Because they have a problem already and they don't need another, but need a solution. The law of the reason.
  6. Why relationship building? So they can see that you mean to benefit them and therefore gain their trust.  Look you really have to help these subscribers. Is that simple. Nobody buys fluff anymore. People work hard for their money and they do not spend them easy.
  7. Conversions will come when all of the steps above are fulfill.
When having a people on the subscriber's list these are golden nuggets that have to be work on. Obviusly there is a period for engaging these subscribers with more value. Value is the best convincing tool.  Usually works judo or boxing or even better as aikido. in judo you need to take the opponent out of balance lading him in the direction that you will execute a surtain technique to trou him. Ones on the ground you work to pin him  or chock him. Boxing-jab jab jab hook. Aikido is taking them out of balance by their own weight and force and executing precise technique. In internet marketing is:
  • warming the subscriber with good content,
  • confirming that their desire or problem is solvable,
  • convincing that ones they buy your product their problem is solved.
In order to do this I try to get to know my subscribers with surveys, Google hang out,or Skype or simply with some email with few questions asked. it is important that in the study period I do not pitch at all. This means no links, no cheesy pitches  just pure human contact. This nurturing proces do not take more than 10 days as I attempt to communicate them in every 3rd day. In these case desire is build already.
